Client: Global Action Plan & Persil

Celebrating inspirational young people who are making a positive difference to the planet.

Challenge

Global Action Plan approached us to capture their ‘Transform Our World’ project, a challenging and ambitious initiative to inspire local children to take an active role in the fight against climate change.

They tasked us with creating a powerful short film that would highlights the programme, along with a series of interview led films that document the human impact behind the project.

Our unique approach

Over the course of a few months, we had the privilege of attending Global Action Plan sessions at a local school in Manchester. We captured interviews with a couple of pre-selected young people that offered their views on the programme. We were heavily involved in the pre-selection process which was a vital part of making this film. Through conversations with the school and the team from Global Action Plan we were able to pick out a couple of young people who would then become the young voices and our main focus throughout the duration of the shoot.

We also approached this project with the intention to include a few key elements to help shape the voices and perspectives of the young people. This included us creating a ‘kid cam’ element and a polaroid style graphics with real words written on them.

Results

In this video, students from St. Francis RC Primary School in Manchester share their hopes and dreams for a better future.

Global Action Plan's partner Persil was so inspired by the film's authentic portrayal of young people's voices that they now use this film on their own marketing channels.

By having Persil highlight Global Action Plan’s amazing work helps generate a bigger reach for our clients.

“We’re delighted with the final films. Northern Heart have been so fantastic to work with and have created some great videos that really highlight the work we’re trying to do!
